Let's Play Ball!

Matt got a little tee-ball set the other day so now Scott and Bobby like to go outside and play baseball sometimes.  My mom and dad came to town, so my dad took some pictures.  Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Matt!

Thanks to all of our family members who helped make Matt's birthday a success! He received all of the books he was lacking from The Wheel of Time series. He was not surprised because one day I failed to get the mail and he started thinking... But he was very grateful and he says something about it every time he passes the bookshelf.

We had a "cookie cake" frosted with Nutella and M&Ms. It was a big hit. We also went back to Cinebistro and saw The Bourne Legacy, which was very enjoyable.

I do feel like we have reached a time in our lives when it is hard to feel special for your birthday all day or all weekend. Yesterday we were doing most of the celebrating, but Matt still had to mow the lawn and clean the fish tank and take a friend to the train station. So basically responsibility is no fun, but especially on your birthday. But I did my best.

Happy Birthday Matt! I'm glad you were born and that none of your dangerous antics as a small and not-so-small child were lethal. Thanks for being a great guy. Love you!

Anniversary

I didn't post anything about my anniversary this year. Scott puked 5 times on the morning of and that put a damper on our plans to go to the temple and dinner and try to catch the fireworks at the Braves game :(
The one upside to Scott's sickness is that he and Bobby slept at the same time for the first time in probably six months so I has some time to myself which was a nice reprieve from the vomit.
Matt did send me flowers in a box and they were beautiful and it helped with the disappointment of not going out. And we got take out from PF Changs so I didn't have to cook so that was a major plus.
The next weekend we went to Cinebistro. They have complimentary valet, amazing food, and comfy chairs, so we felt pampered while we ate salmon and steak and "cineful" chocolate cake. We saw Batman, which I had been wanting to see. Matt had seen it already, but he humored me. It did feel so much more like a celebration and our neighbor was so awesome to watch our boys! We always feel so at ease when she comes to babysit.
I love Matt and I am so glad we found each other and will be together forever. We still have a lot to learn, but I do feel loved and protected and provided for. I am a lucky woman. I also am so happy to be raising my boys with him. I love to see him with them. So often when he is playing with them, throwing them around or tickling them, chasing them or wrestling with them, I think, THIS is why kids need 2 parents and I am so grateful they do. We are truly blessed. Happy 6th anniversary. And many mooooore...

Pictures lately

I feel bad I haven't been posting, but I just discovered the Blogger app so I can blog from my phone! So here are some pictures I got of the boys in the past week or so. Scott's new thing is being "suppy-down" on the couch. I don't have the heart to correct that speech issue... He will get it eventually.

Bobby's First Birthday

Two of my brothers and their kids came to visit the weekend before Bobby's birthday, so we celebrated a little early and his cousins got to help blow out candles.

Bobby was super tired, but we got the obligatory photo with frosting on his face.
Scott had been waiting for a cupcake for many hours, so he dug right in.

The tiredness is starting to show...
The next day we had him open some presents.

Trucks from Uncle Brian and Aunt Hailey, mostly Aunt Hailey ;)

The adults reading the books Bobby got for his birthday...
A present came on his birthday from Aunt Amanda so he got to open something on his actually birthday, which is nice.

And we got him two more taggie blankets so he'll never be without one.  We had a close call a few weeks before, so I thought it would be a good time to get some back-ups.

Happy Birthday Bobby!  We love you so much and we're so glad you're part of our family.  We can't wait to get to know you better and help you learn and grow into an awesome person.  Keep smiling!
