Oh, I forgot this one!

You have to see his chunky legs!

Getting Older?

Here's Scotty on the stairs telling me it's time for bed. The grow up so fast ;)

But seriously, a bunch of people at church today said that Scotty looked older, just since last week, so we took some pictures tonight, and I wondered if any of you guys agreed. Please, opine.
Scott sticks his tongue out all the time now because he's feeling his two new bottom teeth.
Lest I have misled you in thinking that Scott is always smiling, here's a gem:
He's actually just really tired and zoning out, but he does cry, too... we just don't capture that on "film" very often.

Eating, Sitting, Swimming

We have begun feeding Scott baby food. Here's what he thinks of it so far:

I hope his opinion of food improves. It's pretty frustrating to even bother feeding him at this point, but maybe someday he'll actually swallow some of it.

Scott can sit on his own really well now, so I did a little photoshoot with him the other day. Thanks Papa for the outfit!
His hands are in motion. He flaps his arms when he's excited.

Had to get a few with the hood on :)
He loves looking out the window.
Scott and I go swimming about three times a week, but usually when Matt is at work. On Saturday night, we went swimming and Matt got some pictures.

He likes to splash, but he has to close his eyes a lot to do so. Don't you love his little toes sticking out of the water?
We got something for him to float around the pool in. He can't see over the front very well yet, so he usually leans to one side, but it's nice to have a little break from holding him every once in a while. He might like it better when he's a little older, we'll see.

Dam Boogers

Every night, I wake up with Scotty 2, maybe 9, times. Since "allergy season" began, I have noticed a very disturbing phenomenon. My nose is completely clogged with very dry, hard boogers. So, once I remove those the best I can, something else happens--my nose starts to run. It's as if those hard boogers were my snot dam and once removed, my nose becomes an undammed snot river. Not a good thing for someone trying to get a baby to sleep. Has this happened to anyone else, or am I the only lucky one?

I used to think the worst thing about the desert was the starking lack of vegetation, but it seems there is a new contender: dam boogers.

Spring is Here!

It actually snowed a couple of days ago, so it doesn't feel like spring much yet, but I wanted to convince myself, so I got my hair cut last week. I like it :) We also got Scotty a little vest to wear to church last Sunday for "Easter" a week early. My dad says he'll never choose to wear lime green, so I better put it on him now...

And here's one of Scotty in his new Jumper. He's still getting the hang of it, but he sure looks cute in it.

Carlsbad Caverns

I took a trip with Scott down to Carlsbad Caverns. (Matt couldn't afford the vacation days.) My parents were meeting some of our friends from Albuquerque in Roswell, and I tagged along, and my sister came, too. We drove around in a rented Yaris--very cute, and roomier than you might think. Roswell was a total joke. $5 to get into the "museum" was too much. It was like a 7th grade science fair from 1978. If you ever have to decide between Roswell and almost anywhere else, you can skip the Alien Museum and Research Center. For $6, you can go to the Carlsbad Caverns for 3 days... so, ya know. Here are some photos my dad took, because I was too lazy to bring my camera.

I think these are called draperies.
This is called "popcorn."
Scotty, awake! He actually took a little nap on each of the two hikes.
Mom, Maurine, and me.

Scotty, after a long day of hiking... he looks SO tired, huh?

I don't actually think I was there for those last two photos. I only went on the two self-guided tours, and I'm pretty sure these are from a guided tour that I skipped because (a) I was dog-tired and (b) I couldn't bring Scotty. It was a good time, though, and I'd definitely go back.
