Acromioclavicular Separation

Matt went snowboarding for the first time in 3.5 years-ish, and of course, he ended up in the emergency room, thinking he dislocated his shoulder. After waiting for 4-5 hours and changing 4 of Scott's diapers, we found out that his shoulder isn't technically dislocated, and that a ligament had actually torn, separating his clavicle (collarbone) from his scapula (shoulder blade), also known as acromioclavicular (or AC) separation. So, Matt is literally in for a world of hurt over the next 6-8 weeks while it heals. We're planning on going to an orthopaedic surgeon this week to find out if he needs surgery. Oh the joys. Here's a video to show you his shoulder (he didn't want me to show his face):

I had not seen this until today. The X-Ray made it all too clear how much pain Matt must have been in since the accident. HORRIBLE!

Our prayers on behalf of Matt's clavicle will continue.
